18 Weeks Starts with Worry....

Had a little scare last night.... started having light pink spotting again. And of course, it happens on a Wednesday night, and my OB is off Thursdays. I called this morning, and I guess she was in today (because she is off for the next 10 days) and told me to take it easy, drink plenty of water, and am on pelvic rest for two weeks. I was really hoping she would have me come in just to make sure LO is alright since I haven't had an u/s in 6 weeks, plus with her going out of town for the next two weeks.... but I guess if she is not overly concerned, then I should trust that everything is alright. I finished my work for the week, and decided to take tomorrow off to relax. So that is my plan. Brian and I are hoping to check out BRU on Saturday to start getting ideas for furniture and to start pricing things out. We probably won't start our registry for a few more weeks yet. Names!!!!

Well, I think we finally have names picked out :-) Brian and I have had the boy name for a long time now. I just keep changing my mind on the girl name. I struggle sometimes because I want to find a name that doesn't sound to "kiddish" as she would get older. I think, can I see this girl growing up and still being called this at the age of 40+?  I had about 7-8 top favorite names.... and last weekend, found the perfect fit. Here are our choices.....

Boy: Noah James
Girl: Emsley Grace

I have loved Noah for years now. I found Emsley in a baby names book. I saw it and just loved the sound of it. Then I read the meaning and fell in love with the name.... "A gift from God." How perfect!!! Can't wait until July 27th to find out... Noah or Emsley?!?!

17 Weeks and Dr Appt Update

So today was my rescheduled appt from last week. I am glad that the orange glucose drink wasn't that bad. Now just to hope for good results! I was really hoping for an u/s today, but I guess my OB was the only one in the office today and said she was running an hour behind, plus had about 7 more patients to see yet before making rounds in the hospital. So an u/s was pretty much out of the question.  Brian was able to come with me this time. OB found baby's heartbeat right away.... beating at 160bpm.  Loved seeing that smiled on Brian's face when he heard it.I have also gained 6 lbs, which I thought my OB would be upset about, but she said it's a good thing that I am starting to gain a little weight. My A/S is scheduled for July 27th at 5pm. I can't wait!!!!

16 Week Appointment ....

Well it's been since the end of May since my last OB appt. Yesterday was supposed to be the next one. I really was looking forward to it, even getting the 1 hour glucose test done and out of the way. And of course yesterday morning, there were donuts and Panera bagels brought in, which I turned down since I had that test. I left work about 1pm to give myself enough time to get home, let the dog out, and relax a little before having to drink the stuff. I had JUST taken the cap off and was about to drink it, when my phone rang. It was the clinic letting me know that my OB was going to be in surgery all afternoon and needed to reschedule my appt to next Friday :-(  So I recapped the glucose drink and put it back in the refrigerator. Boo!!! Was really disappointed. So hopefully next week I will have an update.

On a happy note, today is 16 week mark for me!!!! I really never imagined I'd ever make it this far. It's still surreal to me. Brian and I have been starting to talk about bedding options... ok, maybe me more than him. I think I am finally letting myself get excited and enjoy this pregnancy a little bit. I am still scared and nervous. When I have bad days, I get out the doppler and find that amazing heartbeat, and I just melt! So grateful I have that for reassurance. And I may even start weekly updates next week... bump pics and all. I've been hesitant to...

Have a safe and happy July 4th!!!!

NT Scan was Today.....

I had my 1st Tri screen aka NT scan this morning. I am thrilled to say I finally got to hear the heartbeat! It was 169 beats per minute, and such an amazing sound to hear! It took the tech a few tries to get the heart rate since baby was moving around so much. Love my little wiggle worm so much!!! Measurement for NT was 1.1, which they look for a number under 2, I believe. Got to see Baby P's legs kick and arms were waving. Was so sweet to see. Final results from the blood test should take about a week I was told. Here are come pics from today. They aren't as clear since it was an abdom. u/s, and I am not the skinniest woman lol......

Baby P's little arm, waving hello!!!

Baby's little mouth open and hand up... ready to suck thumb?!?! :-)

I am hoping now I can try and enjoy this pregnancy a little bit. I will continue to worry until this baby is in my arms, but I know that ..... Today I am Pregnant and I Love My Baby!!! Thank you all for your support and encouragement through all of this. It's amazing the support you can receive from women you have never met (and some you have, too).

2nd Appointment was Today....

My mom went with me today since Brian is saving his vacation time for when the baby arrives. I have been so nervous all week about this day. In the back of my mind, I really felt like something was wrong. I got into the exam room, and my OB tries to find the heartbeat with the Doppler. She couldn't find it (although she only spent about 30 seconds looking), but said she heard the baby kick. She took us into the u/s room and tried an abdominal u/s first. We could see the baby, but not very clearly. So bring on the trans vag. Baby's heart rate was 180 bpm. It wasn't very cooperative with moving around, but my OB got a measurement. Baby is measuring 3 days ahead. I am not going to adjust my due date yet though. She checked my cervix and ovaries. I have a 2 cm cyst on my right ovary. She wasn't too worried about that though. Then went back to check out the baby and it must have woken up because we got to see it's little legs and arms move! Was truly amazing.

My NT scan is next Friday! I can't wait. Then have my next OB appt June 29th. I have to do the 1 hour glucose test at that one... PLEASE let me pass!!! Here is a profile pic from today....

May I introduce....

Baby P!!!

I had my first appt this morning. Brian and I were both SO nervous since we have never seen something on an u/s with our last 2 pregnancies. My OB did a PAP, then took us into the u/s room. Right away when she started, I could see the sac and our little peanut. This pic was the best one of the 6-8 she took! Our little peanut is measuring right on track at 7w1d, with a heart rate of 146 bpm. It was truly amazing to see the little flicker of his/her heart beating! Made tears come to my eyes.

My next appt is May 27th. I will be just over 11 weeks, and can't wait to hear the heartbeat and see our peanut again!
